We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to join our team and provide exceptional care and support to individuals with mental health needs. As a Mental Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of patients in a variety of healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care, including personal hygiene, support with meals, and assistance with daily living activities.
• Support patients with their mental health recovery, offering emotional support and guidance as needed.
• Monitor patients’ physical and emotional conditions and report any changes to the nursing team.
• Assist with therapeutic activities, ensuring a calm and supportive environment.
• Promote the safety and dignity of patients, ensuring adherence to care plans and risk assessments.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with healthcare policies.

Requirements
• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, preferably in a mental health or care setting.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward those with mental health conditions.
• Ability to remain calm and handle challenging situations professionally.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
• A relevant qualification in healthcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential.
